THE decision taken by the Abu Dhabi Municipalities and Agriculture Department, obliging new buildings exceeding 20 floors to provide airstrips for helicopters and parking for cars, needs to be circulated all over the country.
This decision was adopted after it was discovered that many of these towers do not provide sufficient parking for vehicles. Moreover, in case there is a power breakdown that may pose a danger to patients if they need to be admitted quickly into hospitals by using elevators.
Actually, if these towers provide car parks within their building, whether they are constructed underground or in an area owned by the towers, that can remove the trouble of finding available car parks, witnessed recently in other cities like Dubai.
