Following the rise in household accidents that children often fall victim to, Dubai Municipality launched a campaign to educate the public on safety guidelines to follow in their homes to prevent potential injuries.
Under the slogan,"Is your home safe?" the Health and Safety Department has put up an innovative 3D model to illustrate the kinds of danger that a child could face in different areas of the house.
Ridda Salman, head of the municipality's Health and Safety Department said: "Since inspectors cannot go into people's homes and check for safety, all we can do is raise awareness"
The campaign, which will continue until next year, will be launched at different municipality centres and Children's City before it shifts to malls and schools.
Visitors can walk away with safety tools including electrical outlet covers and childproof latches for doors and drawers, along with brochures at the 3D awareness booths.
