DUBAI — Hundreds of children with parents turned up at Zabeel Park for a free dental check up organised by Oral B and Crest in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Department of Health and Medical Services.
The ‘Healthy Smiles Day’ organised on for the second consecutive year aimed at raising awareness on oral hygiene among children below 12 years of age, said organisers of the event. She noted the annual event is organised following findings that around 80 per cent of 12 year olds have around 5 to 6 teeth that are damaged and untreatable.
Last year around 2,000 children were checked up by dentists and oral hygiene experts during the Health Smiles event in the emirate, she said, adding, the numbers are expected to be higher this year.
