Impressive performance by Dubai schools

DUBAI - Students of UAE schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have performed exceedingly well at the All India Secondary School Examination (Grade 10) this year with Anna Maria Thomas from Abu Dhabi Indian School, scoring an all time high aggregate of 97.2 per cent marks, thereby clinching the top UAE position.

She is closely followed by Smitha Sashikumar of The Emirates National School, Sharjah, in the second position in the country obtaining 96.2 per cent, and Devi Purushothaman of Indian School Ajman in the third place with 95.4 per cent marks, results of which were declared yesterday.

Madhav Rao, principal of Our Own English High School, Dubai, and Secretary of the Council of CBSE-affiliated schools in the Gulf, has once again hailed the performance of the students from the Gulf countries, particularly UAE, for their remarkably high aggregate marks.

"It is very encouraging to note the improvement in scores this year, thereby indicating that students from the Gulf countries have become more focused and are disciplined to devote time in excelling. It is evident that pupils want to compete," Mr Rao pointed out.

Some of the results received by the newspaper are as follows:

THE INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school has secured a cent per cent pass results. Hitesh Niranjan Hassija tops the list of candidates in school securing 93.4 per cent, breaking all previous school records. The second position is bagged by Rinky Mansukhani with 93.2 per cent and the third position is secured by Indu Venugopal with 93 per cent aggregate marks.

OUR OWN ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school fielded 548 students this year and has recorded no failures. The top honours among the boys went to Jai Madhok, who obtained 95.4 per cent and the second place went to Aneesh Butani with 94 per cent marks.

Among the girls, Preeti Krishnan stood first with 94.6 per cent, Anusha Murali stood second with 94 per cent and Krittika Avinash Bhende bagged the third place with 94 per cent.

GULF INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school has also achieved cent per cent pass results. The top three students among the girls include Sithara Surendran with 87.6 per cent, Nour Nazar Abdurahim with 83.2 per cent and Mehnaz Begum with 73.2 per cent marks. Among the boys, the top three candidates include Foster Franclin Desayose with 82.2 per cent, Vijaya Kumar Samuel with 80.2 per cent and Rashpal Singh Suri with 69.2 per cent marks.

EMIRATES ENGLISH SPEAKING SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school sent 70 students and has recorded 14 distinctions. Simeen Ali Akbar clinched the top place in school with 89.8 per cent, while Payal Kanayalal Aidasani secured the second place with 86.8 per cent. Among the boys, Balasubramaniam Roshan Chander bagged the first place with 82.2 per cent, followed by Bhavin Hiren Asser with 81.8 per cent.

THE CENTRAL SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school recorded another year of good results with Husna Aboobaker achieving the first position in the girls section securing an overall aggregate of 80.2 per cent, while Talaat Sardar attained the second position with 78.4 per cent and Asma Ali was in the third position with 78.2 per cent. In the boys section, Shaikh Falahedin secured the first position with 76 per cent, followed by Tanvir Husen in the second position with Mohamed Abubaqr in the third place.

NEW INDIAN MODEL SCHOOL, DUBAI: The school fielded 63 students of which Sabah Anwar Ahmedabadi topped the school with 85.6 per cent. Muhammed Sohail topped among the boys with 85.4 per cent. Reeja Susan Thomas stood second amongst the girls with 83.2 per cent and Vinaya Mariam Varghese third with 82.8 per cent. Among the boys, second position was taken by Mohamed Riyas Ali with 80.2 per cent.

THE EMIRATES NATIONAL SCHOOL, SHARJAH: The school has produced this year's second rank holder in the UAE with Smitha Sashikumar obtaining 96.2 per cent marks. The other top performers in the school are Phili Philip securing 93.2 per cent and Melvin Chacko with 92.2 per cent.

SHARJAH INDIAN SCHOOL, SHARJAH: Nitin Bakshi secured the first place in school with 93 per cent. Among the boys, Nithin was followed by Santhanakrishnan Balaji with 91.8 per cent and Adil Abdul Aziz in third place with 90.4 per cent marks.

Among the girls, Harsha Haridas with 91.8 per cent stands first. Iysha Geeth Abbas and Joslin Ann Joseph with 91.2 per cent each jointly shared the second position and the third position was taken by Bhagya Uthaman with 90.8 per cent.

DELHI PRIVATE SCHOOL, SHARJAH: The school, which sent its first batch of students for the grade 10 examination this year, has registered 100 per cent pass results. Of the 72 students who appeared, Siddharth Jain bagged the first place among the boys securing 92 per cent marks. He was followed by Nikhil Sharma with 91.2 per cent and Aashay Vibhas in the third place with 88.4 per cent.

Among the girls, Ann Mary Paul with 89.8 per cent clinched the first position, followed closely by Reetika Ashok Kumar with 88.6 per cent in the second position and Sandhya Pratap Nair in the third place with 87.2 per cent marks.

OUR OWN ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL, SHARJAH: The school achieved 100 per cent success once again this year. The school toppers include Archana Ajayya Madan with 94.2 per cent, followed by Sowmya Karun with 93 per cent and Karen Loretta Pinto with 90.2 per cent and Shari K. Raju with 90 per cent marks.

Among the boys, Alap Pravin Chavda topped with 89.8 per cent and he was closely followed by Nishit Joseph with 89.4 per cent in the second position. Out of 134 students who apperaed, 87 per cent passed in first division and 48 per cent secured distinctions.

PROGRESSIVE ENGLISH SCHOOL, SHARJAH: The school registered 100 per cent pass results this year. A total of 49 candidates appeared in the examination from the school, of which 10 secured distinction and 17 passed in first class. Naveen Shamsudhin stood first with 91.8 per cent, while Anjali Ramdas stood second in school with obtaining 83.4 per cent.

RADIANT SCHOOL, SHARJAH: A total of 13 students represented the school this year of which nine obtained first class. Suaad Azmi bagged the first place in school followed by Suman Jangir in the second place.

GULF ASIAN ENGLISH SCHOOL, SHARJAH: The school's top performers among the boys include Mohammed Ismail, Ahmed Saleh and Shailendra Natwarsigh while Farheen Ahmed bagged the first position among the girls, closely followed by Bilsa Babu in the second place and Rincy Rajan in the third place.

INDIAN SCHOOL, AJMAN: Of the 35 students who appeared from the school, 19 obtained first class and six passed in distinction. Devi Purushothaman secured 95.4 per cent and bagged the third position in the UAE and the first in the school. She was followed by Ravipal Singh in the second position with 82.4 per cent and Hanseel Hameed in the third place with 82.2 per cent scores.

AL AMEER ENGLISH SCHOOL, AJMAN: The school has Sarabjit Kaur Bahadur and Reshma K.Revindran bagging the top two positions.

OUR OWN ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL, FUJAIRAH: The school has secured 100 per cent pass grades with Athira Siddarthan topping the school with 90 per cent marks. Jacob Jose stood first among the boys with 85 per cent aggregate marks, followed by Munir Hussein Mahdi in the second place with 83 per cent while Nishita B.Adtani finished second with 88 per cent among the girls.

RAK INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL: The school secured 100 per cent results. Manu Suvarna topped the list with 89.6 per cent followed by Remya Mary Mathew who stood second and Abdul Rahim Shaan came up with 87.6 per cent marks.

RAK INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL: The school once again proved its academic excellence by securing 100 per cent results. Sreeshma Prabhakaran secured the top honour with 91 per cent followed by Sridhar Krishnamoorthy with 90.8 per cent marks. Among the girls, the second position holder is Revathi Premaraj with 90.6 per cent and among the boys; Mithu Murali secured 88.2 per cent marks.
