Fahmi Abu Bakr Mubarak, an investigator from Al Ain Civil Defence, said that the incident occurred on November 23 at 3.06pm.

The man’s family said he was suffering from depression due to financial problems. Al Ain Police is investigating the case.

STORE GUTTED

A DATES’ store belonging to a UAE national here was gutted on Monday. Fahmi Abu Bakr Mubarak said that the house where the accident happened belonged to Mubarak Mohammed Al Zahri, a 40-year-old UAE national. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

FIRE IN TANKER

IN another accident, an Adnoc tanker caught fire in Al Sad area near Al Ain. “The incident occurred on Monday at 10.20am due to an electric short-circuit. The fire broke out in the vehicle’s engine, but the Pakistani driver managed to put it out with the fire powder before the Civil Defence reached the spot,” Fahmi said.
