The attestation processes will now be handled by IVS Global Services, the agency that has secured the new contract for the service, at its centre located at the Business Atrium, No. 201 and 202 (2nd floor) in Oud Metha, at a lower price.

“IVS Global Services Centre will be open from 8am to 3.30pm from Sunday to Thursday. Service hours have been effectively extended by three and a half hours for the convenience of the applicants. There is no change in any of the procedures or documentation for attestations,” the mission said in a Press statement issued on Wednesday.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Consul-General of India in Dubai Sanjay Verma said the mission would post its officials at the centre since most of the documents to be attested by the mission must be signed by the applicants in the presence of consuls concerned.

“Our officials will continue to offer the attestation services on the premises of the Indian associations in Northern Emirates during Fridays.”

The new company, which took over the operations from VFS Global, has already begun functioning at the Consulate in Dubai and the Embassy in Abu Dhabi. “In Dubai, they are moving out of the mission from Sunday.

The new premises in Abu Dhabi will be announced in a couple of weeks,” said the envoy. Though it was anticipated that the service charge may go up with the new company taking over the operations, the charge has instead been slashed from Dh10 to Dh4.50, according to Verma.

This is charged by the service provider for attestation of documents like birth and death certificates, educational certificates and various affidavits and other official documents for use in the UAE and India.

“The closest Metro station to the IVS Global Services Centre is Oud Metha Metro Station — 1 and the nearest bus stop is the Oud Metha stop. There is also adequate parking space available near the new location,” the mission said. Verma said this would be very convenient for the applicants.

“And the best part is (that) we will get our auditorium (vacant). We are getting it renovated and planning to use it for a lot more community activities.”
