Infrastructure upgrade work in the capital's downtown areas of Hamdan Street and its adjoining streets will be completed next month.
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality is finalising works in a key development project of East 6 Sector, which is frequented by thousands everyday for gold and jewellery shopping, sending remittances back home apart from medical treatment.
Infrastructure upgrade is 91 per cent complete, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality said. The project includes footpaths and service roads, asphalt works, rainwater drainage network, water connections, and other services such as lighting, and a single-level parking structure with a capacity to accommodate 204 cars.
The project is poised for full completion this June. These works ensure the provision of modern services, world-class facilities and sustainable living environment for all residents of the area.
The project epitomises the municipality's vision and strategy aimed at establishing world-class infrastructure in Abu Dhabi City to achieve the aspirations of the community and contribute to the sustainable development.
These projects reflect the municipality's commitment to its corporate values aimed at upgrading the quality of life in the city, and upgrading infrastructure in a way that achieves the aspirations of the community members and supports the development upswing taking place in Abu Dhabi at all fronts.
The municipality is moving ahead with its infrastructure and rehabilitation projects in many fast-growing areas as mandated by service requirements and Abu Dhabi Plan 2030.
