Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought all documents in the case filed against acquittal of former president Asif Ali Zardari in two National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Amir Farooq took up the case for hearing on Wednesday. NAB prosecutor Chaudhry Riaz told the court that evidence was not furnished and witnesses did not appear in the trial court against Zardari. Former joint secretary of NAB, Hassan Waseem Afzal did not appear in the court for recording evidence, he added.
The court remarked, "During the trial you had opportunity to furnish evidence. You would have issued non-bailable arrest warrants against any witness who had not appeared."
