Filipinos looking for a job can now get an opportunity to work in Japan as the country is hiring household workers and first-time overseas Filipino workers(OFWs).
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Deputy Administrator Jocelyn Sanchez said Japan could serve as an alternative destination for domestic helpers.
"It's our alternative market, what I'm saying, that's our domestic helpers who love those in the Middle East, of course they like it," he said according to The Filipino Times.
The domestic helpers will be required to work 8 hours a day and shall get paid for over-time work.
They will be given a monthly salary of Php40,000 to Php55,000 (Dh3,851) and shall not be required to live with their employee.
Training will be provided to the applicants where-in they shall be taught about the Japanese culture, language, and food.
"It's also important that they understand the culture of the Japanese people so that they can assimilate with the day-to-day life [there]," Paolo Guevara, President of Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, said.
