More than two kilometres of the Jumeirah Corniche Walk as well as the jogging track starting from the Dubai Sailing Club to near the Dubai Municipality’s Umm Suqeim centre have been completed and will be opened to sports enthusiasts today.

Nabeel Mohammed Salih, Director of the Traffic and Roads Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, said with the initial phase of the Jumeirah Corniche completed, the project is now 70 per cent done. It will fully open to the public by next October.

“We are inviting walking and jogging enthusiasts to practise at the Jumeirah Corniche during this holy month of Ramadan, when there is a marked tendency among community members to walk and jog,” Salih said. “Walking is increasingly attracting a large portion of the community.”
