Islamabad: Pakistan has made it clear that it wanted to hold talks with India on all issues including the Kashmir dispute, which it said will remain on top of agenda in future parleys.
Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah told a weekly Press briefing here on Thursday, "We want to go for dialogue with India on all issues without any pre-conditions. But whenever Pakistan holds talks with India, the Kashmir issue will be on top of the agenda. This has already been made clear on India by our adviser to prime minister on foreign affairs. On the other hand, India wants the Kashmir issue to be suppressed."
The spokesperson said, "holding talks with India without Kashmir is of no use. Kashmir is a disputed territory and we want this to be resolved in line with the UN resolutions and as per wishes of Kashmiri people."
He also said that Pakistan keeps on holding talks with India from time to time for release of detained Pakistani fishermen and such talks will continue in future.
While condemning the killing of journalists in Karachi, Qazi said that the murder of any Pakistani was condemnable. "We are striving to restore peace in the city through the National Action Plan. Media's role and significance in this regard cannot be overlooked. We have heartfelt sympathies for the families of the journalists who have been killed," he said.
"Several projects are being launched in Gwadar under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and its completion will not only benefit the people of the two countries but also the whole region. He said that action was being taken against all terrorist groups under Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
"Pakistan is continuing its cooperation with Afghanistan in action against militants. Both the countries can together eliminate terrorism," he said.
