KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known, in his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, declared that he and his wife together have assets worth over Rs 150 million in the form of cash, jewellery and immovable properties, but neither owns a car.
The TRS chief submitted the affidavit while filing his nomination papers for Medak Lok Sabha constituency and Gajwel Assembly segment at the District Collector’s office in nearby Sangareddy.
In his affidavit, KCR claimed he had cash and deposits worth about Rs60.3 million, while his wife had Rs2.1 million. Besides the cash, the couple together has immovable assets worth about Rs60.5 million.
KCR also has houses in upmarket Banjara Hills and Thigalaguttapally in Karimnagar worth Rs30.6 million. His total assets, as per the affidavit, was put at Rs80.6 million including cash and deposits. He has loans and liabilities worth Rs70.8 million.
The TRS chief, considered as the architect of the separate statehood movement, also owns 37.70 acres of agricultural land valued at Rs40.5 million as per current market price in suburban Yerravally village of Jagadevpur mandal in Medak district. KCR built a farmhouse in the land which was the hub of activity during the run up to the bifurcation of the state.
The TRS chief also declared that he held shares worth Rs5.5 million in Telangana Broadcasting Pvt Ltd which runs a local television channel and shares worth about Rs40 million in Telangana Publications Pvt Ltd, which publishes the Telugu daily “Namasthe Telangana.”
KCR, meanwhile, launching his party’s election campaign in Siddipet Assembly constituency from where his nephew T Harish Rao is constesting, lashed out at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the BJP claiming that they had hatched a conspiracy to prevent his party from coming to power in Telangana. The new state will come into existence on June 2, the ‘Appointed Day’ declared by the Union Home Ministry.
