Keralites top list of 100 powerful Indians in GCC

According to the list, six Keralites also figure among the top 20.

Dubai: Nearly 20 businessmen and professionals from the south Indian state of Kerala have been named in the annual list of 100 powerful Indians in the Gulf countries.

The ‘Indian Power List’ is published by Arabian Business, a leading business magazine. According to the list, six Keralites also figure among the top 20.

Leading the list is managing director of the Lulu Group, M.A. Yusuff Ali, for the fifth consecutive year, while Ravi Pillai, chairman of RP Group of Companies, is ranked second followed by IFFCO Group founder Feroz Allana, lawyer Ashish Mehta and NMC Group chairman BR Shetty in the third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

Dr. Zulekha Daud of the Zulekha Healthcare Group ranks top among the women.

Other prominent Indians in the list include P.N.C. Menon, Chairman of Sobha Developers; Sunil John, Chief Executive Officer of ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller; K.V. Shamsudheen, Founder of Pravasi Bandhu Welfare Trust, and Sunny Varkey, Founder & Chairman of GEMS Education.

The business magazine selected the 100 powerful Indians in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries from over 500 entrepreneurs and professionals.
