Dubai-based Khaleej Links is the leading importer of food packaging products in the UAE and GCC. The company supplies to a wide range of customers, from volume sales to local traders, to businesses across the hospitality industry, including hotels, cafes and catering companies under the Khaleej Pack brand.
After the Covid-19 pandemic brought businesses to a halt in the UAE, Khaleej Links quickly restructed its business strategy to meet the ongoing demands of the market.
Muhammad Fahim Gader, Managing Director at Khaleej Links and Khaleej Pack Industry, said: "We are a supplier of consumer goods in the UAE and saw the spike in certain products. We then shifted our focus to fast-moving goods and adjusted the customer profile to maintain a breakeven revenue. In this case, it was the gloves - latex and vinyl."
Gader changed the business strategy to ensure maximum visibility in the market. Apart from selling the gloves via retail and wholeseller outlets, Gader has extended the option to sell directly to the end customers via online platforms. This ensured high quality products at optimum pricing.
The gloves that are imported from Malaysia, China and Thailand are best in quality, assures the Managing Director.
"We prefer quality over quantity, choosing to o?er only reliable products that deliver the best value for money to our clients. Therefore, our organic growth and success is due to our reputation as a reliable source of quality products."
Khaleej Links is also a supplier of protective masks in the UAE market under the brand name of Safe & Care. The facility in Ajman has been restructured to manufacture masks. "There are a lot of mask brand in the UAE and the market is thriving for all such manufacturers, given the need. But for us customer's health is priority. Our masks are made from the best materials available so that the wearer is comfortable and safe."
Business Continuity Plan
Now with the businesses back into action including the restaurants, Khaleej Links has seen a rise again in the demand of their original product range - aluminium containers, cling films and disposable items.
Gader revealed that the company is putting in machines to manufacture aluminium containers starting in August to keep up with the demand in the market. "This is our way forward. To understand the market needs and work accordingly."
