Next Sunday, April 15, will be a holiday in Kuwait on the occasion of Isra Wal Miraj, the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al Saleh said in a statement to Monday.
This means residents in Kuwait will get a three-day holiday.

Late last week, the Directorate of Religious Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Bahrain, said it will hold the annual ceremony of the Isra Wal Miraj after Isha (evening) prayers on Thursday, April 12 (Rajab 26, 1439 in the Islamic calendar) at the Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Centre in Bahrain.
It will be held under the patronage of President of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council (SIAC), Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa, according to Bahrain's official news agency
The ceremony will feature a number of speakers, according to Dr Fareed bin Yaqub Al Muftah, Deputy Minister for Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
It will open with a Qur'anic recitation by Sheikh Khaleel Banshi, followed by a speech from the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa.
Sheikh Rashid Hasan Al Buaneen, a judge at the Court of Cassation, and Sheikh Fadel Hussain Fateel Al Wa'eth from the ministry will also deliver speeches to mark the occasion.
Al Wa'eth said, "Celebrating the miracle of the Isra Wal Miraj is a way to remember and remind ourselves of what makes Islam special.
"This is a global religion which calls for peaceful coexistence, connection, and being open to other cultures.
"It urges us to be modern and have dialogues, as the core of the message from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and all the prophets begins from Tawheed (the oneness of God) that unites our people, our civilisation, and our modernity."
The justice ministry invites citizens and residents to attend the ceremony.
