Fehaid Aldeehani, Kuwait's independent entry shooter who was the last qualifier late on Wednesday, struck amazing form to clinch gold in the men's double trap final at the Rio Olympics, early Thursday morning (UAE time).
For the GCC and Arab countries, this was the second medal of the Games after the UAE's 81kg judoka Sergiu Toma won bronze, Wednesday early morning.
In the summit round, Aldeehani helped himself to 26 points from his quota of attempts to nudge out Marco Innocenti of Italy (24).
In the all-Britain bronze medal shootoff, Steve Scott beat Tim Kneale 30-28.
Earlier, the UAE's Khaled Alkaabi missed out narrowly to be among the top six shooters of the qualifying rounds on Wednesday.
