Tawhid Abdullah, managing director of Damas, said that the Harmony series comprised eight hand-crafted Italian designs personally selected by Dutta herself.

"The collection is literally a harmony between beauty and design as well as classical and contemporary styles. It symbolizes the glamour and elegance of today's professional women," Abdullah said.

Unlike jewellery in other Damas collections, Harmony is fashioned purely out of gold, without stone encrustations. "We wanted to show the beauty of the metal (gold) itself through unique craftsmanship," Abdullah said.

Dutta herself insisted that the new collection identified with her personality. "It is something that I would end up wearing myself. It is classical, young and contemporary. It is versatile jewellery that people of all ages can wear, whether to a casual or a formal evening occasion."

A promotional on the new collection was also presented to the Press, which, Dutta said, was shot entirely in Rome, projecting the Italian identity of the designs.

Each set of Harmony includes a pair of earrings, a necklace, a bracelet and a ring and are available at all Damas outlets.
