Little Stars

Since 2006, the gymnasts perform at the Annual Little Stars Gymnastics Concert, which incorporates what the children have learned throughout the year in addition to a combination of rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic, and dance moves.

It is now that time of the year again when the little gymnasts get to show-off their skills and shine on stage at The Little Stars annual gymnastics show. The performance, which will be held at the National Centre for Documentation and Research in Abu Dhabi, is under the direction of gymnastics master, Taya Baydoun. Those students who show commitment to the sport from the beginning of the year, those who exhibit great advancement in learning gymnastics skills and those who have demonstrated great discipline are chosen for the stage!

The programme will start at 6pm on May 16 and 4pm on May 17. Tickets are available at Spinney’s Khalidiya, Vision Private School and at the venue.

SAADIYAT’S FIRST SHOP!

Actually, it’s a supermarket and, as expected, is one of the expensive ones!

Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), master developer of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat island, announced the opening of the first supermarket on the luxurious island. Part of The Collection, the shopping area within the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Spinney’s Market is the first tenant to open its doors at the island’s first retail complex. Several other restaurants and retail outlets are set to follow shortly.

“The Collection at Saadiyat is undoubtedly one of the most exciting retail developments in the capital and we are delighted to be represented there. Our Spinney’s Market will offer the local community a convenient shopping experience with the Spinney’s promise of freshness and quality,” said Colette Shannon, communications manager of Spinney’s.

Spinney’s will provide residents and visitors with the much needed fresh food and groceries supplies, since the nearest supermarket is over 5km away. Residents here already enjoy a prime location next door to international five-star resorts The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas, and top-class sports and leisure facilities. These include the region’s first championship beachfront golf course, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and the world’s first Monte-Carlo Beach Club outside of Monaco.

“We are delighted that the first supermarket on Saadiyat has opened its doors, a convenience that our residents have been waiting for. Spinney’s is known for its high-quality fresh food and groceries, and we believe the supermarket is a great addition to the island catering to both residents and visitors,” said Ahmed Al Fahim, executive director of Marketing, Communications, Sales and Leasing at TDIC.

Joining Spinney’s Market at The Collection will be DNA health and wellness centre, Beyond the Beach resort wear, Koi Japanese restaurant, Caramel restaurant and lounge, Shakespeare & Co cafe, Baskin Robbins ice cream, Avasa Indian restaurant, StaBlu resort wear, Health First Pharmacy, Aziz Men’s Salon, Salwa Zeidan Gallery, Al Manara International Jewellery, Amro Ladies Salon, Exquisite Arts and Gifts, Yas Perfumes, Yateem Optician, Tejori gems, Heritage Touch home accessories and gifts, Rivoli Arcade luxury gifts, Abd el Wahab Lebanese restaurant and People by Crystal nightspot.

The Collection, which consists of a mix of 25 restaurants and retail outlets, is the first retail complex on Saadiyat Island. With a total of 6,000 square metres of leasable space, The Collection features architecture inspired by old-world Mediterranean villages, with terraces, courtyards and piazzas.

RIHANNA ON SALE

Tour promoters FLASH Entertainment in association with Live Nation Global Touring announced that tickets are already on sale for the Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour concert in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, October 19 at the du Arena on Yas Island. They are available from www.ticketmaster.ae.

Ticket prices for the all-standing concert start from Dh250 with a limited Early Bird quantity of General Admission, Dh395 for the General Admission category, Dh495 for General Admission Early Entry category, Dh695 for Diamond VIP Platform category, Dh995 for Golden Circle category and Dh1,295 for the Golden Circle Early Entry category. Concert organisers confirm that this is the one and only Rihanna show taking place in Abu Dhabi. The busy Diamonds World Tour schedule shows that Rihanna will leave the UAE immediately after the concert. Contrary to speculation, there will be no second show.
