ABU DHABI - Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade has stressed the importance of finding effective leaders who are not born but made.
Addressing a gathering held here today at Rotana Beach Hotel to mark World Women Day, she underlined that the leadership requires continuous learning, work and serious commitment. “Our words and actions involve a lot of value and importance, therefore, we should be responsible for our relations with others whom we serve.”
Shaikha Lubna said that there are many challenges in this changing world characterised with intense competition and various challenges that require double efforts and vigilance to make a future, indicating that “our future is outcome of what we make today with our own hands, in addition to our heritage legacy.”
She talked about her early education until she completed her post-graduate studies and worked in many leading positions in the country. Shaikha Lubna emphasised the importance of support provided by the country to Emiratis to obtain knowledge and acquire different skills. “Components of success and excellence do not come accidentally, but through hard work and diligence”.
The UAE minister called on community members to get more knowledge each in his/her field, indicating that “learning is an inseparable part of specialists and leaders development as they need continuous learning to extrapolate and have the ability to assess situations and make critical decisions, which often have a great impact in guiding destinies of society towards progress and prosperity.”
The event was organised by UAE Businesswomen Council in Abu Dhabi in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of business councils in the UAE.
