M-Coded licence plates being offered online

DUBAI — The Vehicles Licensing Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently started offering M-coded vehicle number plates online through its portal, customer service centres and strategic partners outlets in response to the positive feedback received and the intense public interest in acquiring these distinguished plates.

“Launching the allocation of the M-coded number plates service underlines the continuous endeavour of the Licensing Agency to meet the needs and expectations of fans interested in acquiring vehicle distinguished licensing plates. The past two online auctions have seen an upsurge in the public attention resulting in substantial successes,” said Abdul Karim Nimaat, Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency.

“About 10,000 four and five-digit distinguished vehicle number plates of code ‘M’ have been allocated online with prices ranging from Dh1,610 to Dh3,160 including all fees. The service enables customers to acquire their fancied plates via RTA website (www.rta.ae) or Customer Service Centres at Umm Al Ramool, Deira Traffic, Bur Dubai Traffic, and the Unified Services Centre of Dubai Municipality at Al Tawar as well as the outlets of the strategic partners namely: ENOC (Tasjeel), Shamil, Wasil Belhasa and auto dealers in Dubai.

“The customer can buy the number plate exhibited in the screen by using a credit card following which the number selected will be directly downloaded to the customer’s traffic file, thus enabling the customer to register and fix the plate on the vehicle. Afterwards, the plate’s ownership certificate will be couriered.
