Major traffic jam on Sharjah-Dubai road today morning

Traffic was at its worst on the Sharjah-Dubai road today morning, with many motorists succumbing to road rage.

Several motorists said that it took them over an hour to reach from Al Khan to Ansar Mall.

“I have no idea what’s wrong today. I stay in Al Khan and I got out of my house at 9.45 am and I am still on Sharjah-Dubai road. The time now is 10.50 am,” said Adil Mustafa, a resident of Sharjah.

Motorist were also complaining of lack of police patrol to monitor the situation on the road.

Khaleej Times tried to get in touch with the police but no one was available for a comment.

“People were changing lanes without the indicators. It was total chaos. I saw many motorists shouting at each other and losing the patience. They are not to be blamed. It is nothing but frustration”, said Adithi Varma, a resident of Al Taawun.

Voicing a similar concern, another Sharjah resident Qasim Jafer said that he would move out from Sharjah to Dubai as he cannot tolerate the traffic nightmare that he has to encounter every day.

“I moved from Dubai to Sharjah a year back because of the rent. I pay less in Sharjah for my one bedroom flat as compared to what I was paying while living in Dubai. But I think I will have to move back to Dubai because of the everyday traffic on Sharjah Dubai road in the morning. I just can’t bear it.”
