The man who was arrested from Haridwar in Uttarakhand in connection with the murder of elderly Kerala nun has confessed to the crime.
According to reports from Haridwar, 38-year-old Satheesh Babu confessed to have killed Sister Amala of Lisieux Carmelite Convent at Pala near Kottayam during interrogation by a team of Kerala police on Friday. However, the motive behind the murder has not been revealed yet.
The accused will be brought to Kerala after procuring a transit remand from Haridwar court. The team led by Pala Dy Superintendent of Police Suneesh Babu has filed an application in this regard in a court at Pala.
Reports said that Satheesh had also admitted that he had attacked several nuns in various convents in the state in the past.
He reportedly told the police that he had committed the crimes alone. After killing Sister Amala on September 17, he got into a train and arrived in Haridwar on September 22 to avoid arrest.

The cyber cell of the state police, who have been monitoring the calls of his relatives and friends, located the culprit when temple priest Vishnu Nampoothiri contacted his brother on his mobile.
The Kottayam district superintendent of police immediately informed his counterpart at Haridwar about the presence of Satheesh at the temple. Based on the information, the Haridwar police took him into custody and detained him in the control room till the Kerala police team arrived at Haridwar on Friday morning.
Sister Amala (69) of the Congregation of Mother of Carmel (CMC) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her room in the Lisieux Carmelite Convent at Pala near Kottayam. The post-mortem report has confirmed that the elderly nun was murdered.
