Emirati couple welcomed a beautiful baby girl Al Maha Luai Al Saadi on the special occasion of Eid Al Adha. Abu Dhabi's premier healthcare facility, Burjeel Hospital, delivered UAE's first Eid Al Adha Baby 2017, weighing 3550 grams, born at 12:01 AM today.
The parents, Basma Abbas Al Khafaji and Luai Khaled Al Saadi who have been married for 3 years, are thrilled that their child is also the first Eid Al Adha baby in the UAE.
"We are elated that God has blessed us with a healthy baby girl and this has by far been the best Eid gift for us", said the cheerful father, Luai Khaled Al Saadi. "The medical and nursing staff at Burjeel Hospital has been fantastic, and we would like to thank them for safely delivering our precious gift, he added.
Dr. Sausan Abdul Rahman, Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology at Burjeel Hospital said the facility was very pleased to bring happiness to the Al Saadi family on this significant day.
"Delivering a baby on such a joyous occasion is an incredible feeling and we are proud that it happened here at Burjeel. We wish a happy and a healthy life for this little bundle of joy
Other Eid Babies
Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi welcomed a total of 6 newborns (5 boys and 1 girl) on Arafat Day, and another 4 newborns (2 boys and 2 girls) the first few hours of Eid Al Adha.
The first baby was born at 4:15 am on the first day of Eid Al Adha, and weighed 3 Kg and is the fourth child for the family. Her father, Omar Bakheet Tamatem Al Menhali said, "the baby is in good health and we have named her Mathayel. We are extremely happy to have her join us on the first hours of Eid Al Adha. From here, we would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE on this very special day. Mathayel, has a brother and two sisters, who are overwhelmed with her birth today."
A pair of twins were also born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children at 11:55 pm on Arafat Day, the night of the first day of Eid Al Adha. The twins (two boys) are the first children for the family and weighed 1.8 kg each. Mr Abdel Qader Darwish, the father of the twins, said "The birth of our twins on this blessed night was a surprise for us, and now the memorable occasion is tripled for us. We named them Mohamoud and Ahmed. We are very thankful for this blessing.
The twins were delivered by Dr Rihan Saafan, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology at Danat Al Emarat Hospital. Dr Rihan said, "Multiple pregnancies are associated with higher possibility of early delivery. The twins were due in the third week of October but decided to join the family on this special occasion for all and triple the joy of their parents and ours. Both babies and mother are in good health."
Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children said, "We are happy to welcome the nine newborns at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children on Arafat Day and the first few hours of Eid Al Adha. All 10 babies and mothers are doing well and are in good health."
"Including our 10 newborns, 4445 babies have been born at our hospital since we opened in October 2015; including 2313 boys and 2132 girls; of which 2775 were UAE Nationals. All these precious bundles of joy were managed by our 70 medical team members of obstetricians, pediatricians and neonatologists. We expect to welcome another 4 babies by the end of today," she added.
The hospital distributed flowers and gifts for all patients and children who are spending the Eid Al Adha at the hospital.
