ME’s first medical spa getting ready

SHARJAH — Imagine waking up in a haze of scented lavender oils before proceeding to a Turkish bath for a soothing massage. Duly pampered, you walk past a hallway with overhanging chandeliers and retreat to your spacious, presidential suite for the night.

No, this isn’t an offering from Dubai’s latest luxury hotel; this is the Royal Hospital, right next to the Sharjah International Airport.

Noticing the high demand for luxury medicare in the region, Dr Robinder Singh, CEO of the hospital, has conceptualised the medical spa, offering medicare in a warm and comfortable environment, for the first time in the region.

The spa offers Ayurvedic, Chinese, Russian and Moroccan therapies as well as hydrotherapy and other health facilities.

“During my 24-year stay in the UAE, I felt a demand for unparalleled luxury in the GCC market. Together with the vision of our Chairman, Shaikh Faisal Bin Khalid Mohammed Al Qassimi, I have created something that is truly unique,” said Singh.

The 160-bed hospital boasts of a 5-star VIP complex with four presidential, six royal and 12 special executive suites in addition to other affordable options. Charges range from Dh150 for a semi-private room to Dh7,000 for a presidential suite.

“We want to make specialised healthcare affordable to all strata of society. No matter what room you choose, you’ll still receive the same high-quality healthcare. We treat all our patients alike,” he added.

The hospital is currently undergoing minor construction and is expected to be ready to receive its first out-house patient within a week.
