They stressed the importance of preventing a wider escalation of the conflict, which threatens to further endanger peace and stability in the region
The opening ceremony will be held at the Galleria, Mall of the Emirates, Shaikh Zayed Road at 7.45pm in the presence of VIP guests, Golden Ticket winners and the media. Thereafter, the train journey with the guests will start from the Mall of the Emirates station and end at the Al Rashidiya Station.
The general public, however, will only be able to ride the trains on Thursday.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has already sent out red and white invitation cards highlighting the inauguration date and guiding all invitees to the VIP entrance at the Galleria.
Tomorrow’s launch will be partly open to public use at 10 stations along the Red Line that starts from Al Rashidiya Station and ends at Jebel Ali Station.
At the time of the launch, only 44 trains of the total 62 will service the Red Line. Initially, the operations will be launched starting with the capacity of around 6,300 passengers per hour per direction with fewer trains on the track. A total of 79 will be used on the Red and the Green Lines to carry around 27,000 passengers per hour per direction once the metro is fully operational in March next year.
