The Ministry of Public Works Excellence Programme 2006 is supported by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works. It is sponsored by Nayel and Bin Hirmil Hydro Export Co. and Al Waset for Road Contracting.
Three categories of winners included the ‘Distinguished Leader’, the ‘Distinguished Specialised Employee’ and the ‘Distinguished Assistant’. Each category has three distinguished employees and the award comprised certificates of acknowledgment and cash prizes.
In the category of Distinguished Leader, the first position went to engineer Ahmad Abdullah Alhamadi, Deputy Director of Road and Public Utilities Department, Road Department. Engineer Rashid Khamis Al Muheiri, Head of the Maintenance System Section, Building Maintenance Department, won the second position, while the third position went to Mohammed Jaafar Mohammed Hussein, Contract Section Head, Bid and Contract Department.
In the Distinguished Specialised Employee category, Engineer Khouloud Mohammed Bou Afra, Road Project Communication Engineer, Road and Public Utilities Departmen, won the first, Engineer Afifa Mohammed bin Hamad, architect, Building Design Department, bagged the second, and Engineer Iman Ali Al Jarwan, architect at the Maintenance Section, got the third position.
In the the Distinguished Assistant Employee category, the first position went to Hana Mohammed Al Souri, Graphic Designer, Study and Planning Department, the second position went to Suhaila Youssef Ahmed, Administrative, Bid and Contract Department, and the third position went to Ibtissam Ali Al Zoabi, Administrative Secretary, Building Maintenance Department.
The ceremony was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Public Works Minister, and Dr Abdullah Bilhaif Al Naiimi, Under-Secretary at the ministry, and other guests.
