"The e-initiative aims at helping all stakeholders in the learning process from the ministry, teachers, students and guardians to interact with each other. The e-link will provide a package of services for all and make communication and follow-up more easier," Dr. Hassan told a Press conference yesterday that was attended by top ministry officials.
He said the e-portal, first phase of a broader project, features all services, information, reports, meetings and activities concerning public education, be it at the ministry or field level.
According to Dr Hassan, the portal will provide integrated services, including licensing, academic accreditation, fees structure and accredited curricula and services provided by each school.
"Guardians have the right to have access to information in a transparent way," he affirmed.
"Through the e-portal, guardians can access marksheets and assessments as well as homework, examinations schedule, academic year calendar, including holidays. The ministry staff can also know the status of their salaries, evaluation and elevation without referring to their departments," he explained.
Badriya Yusouf, Director of the Ministry's IT Department, gave a presentation about all aspect of the e-portal and its services.
She said the portal has interesting links like e-learning, distance education and video-conferencing learning rooms.
Communication, she added, will be in Arabic and English to all surfers across the world.
"Guardians can communicate and interact with schools and follow up on the progress of their children. The service will be first launched at the Schools of Tomorrow (Ghad)," she revealed.
