Bahrain's Ministry of Interior said on Monday that the body of a missing mosque Imam was found cut in pieces after being kidnapped by Asians.
In a statement issued on Twitter, the ministry added that a 35-year-old Asian suspect was arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in Imam Abdul Jalel Hamoud Al Ziyadi's murder.
Al Ziyadi's body was found chopped up in plastic bags in Al Mazraa area.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
According to local media reports, the Imam's family reported him missing since Saturday morning.
The reports added that the Imam was murdered after preventing the muezzin (man who makes the call to prayer) of the same mosque from selling illegal visas - mainly to Bangladeshi nationals - and reporting him to the authorities, after which the muezzin was suspended.
