Speaking to your favourite No. 1 newspaper yesterday, Mohammed Salim Al Dahiri, Director of the Zone said that the zone will build more schools, that will have state-of-the-art facilities like swimming pools, library, labs, clinics, cafeteria etc.
“The basic concept is that the schools should not be a mere centre for education but fulfil all the requirements for the overall development of students,” Dahiri noted.
He added that the schools will also cater to the physical education requirements of students apart from offering day care facilities.
“Children can even come back after their school hours and make use of the facilities,” he said.
According to him, two such schools have already started functioning in Abu Dhabi from the new academic year and they will have more of such type in the coming years.
“Some of the government schools are more than 30 years old and it is time that we upgrade their facilities; and we are implementing this ambitious project step by step,” he explained.
Speaking about the new programmes, Dahiri said that the Zone is presently implementing an IT project, which is in the third year.
