ABU DHABI — Federal Health authorities have decided to recall all medicines that contain ‘Clobutinol Hydrochloride’ following reports of potential cardiac problems associated with the substance.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has decided to withdraw drugs that contain the substance for fears of cardiac events linked with Clobutinol Hydrochloride, according to Dr Issa bin Jakkha Al Mansoori, Director of the Central Drug Control Department (CDCD) at the MoH.
The MoH has alerted private pharmacies and government stores to halt dispensing Clobutinal-containing products, said Dr Mansoori. He said that the recall was a precautionary measure to protect public health.
