General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces,on Mondayreceived at Al Bahr Palace Emirati poet, Saif Salem Al Mansouri, winner of the sixth edition of the million’s poet contest 2013- 2014, and the judging panel.
General Shaikh Mohammed congratulated the winner of the competition, organised by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi. He also greeted other winners, commending their role in promoting poetry and culture as well. “All poets in this competition are winners given their innovative works that leave positive impact. Losing a rank will not at all degrade the poetic and artistic abilities of a competitor.”
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi wished them all success in advancing the poetry, commending the judging panels for their efforts to develop the contest.
For his part, the million’s poet competition winner thanked General Shaikh Mohammed for his continuous support to the contest to preserve the authentic Arab innovative competition traditions. Then Al Mansouri recited a poem on love of the nation led by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The event was attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Mualla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; and Lt General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
