During the final session of the extraordinary cabinet meeting, concluded yesterday in Liwa, west of Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Mohammed urged the ministers to focus more on field work “to confront problems hindering provision of quality services head-on, and to move away from bureaucracy and red tape”.

“By the grace of Allah the Almighty, we have achieved the strategy right on the scheduled time. This great success would have not been achieved without your efforts, teamwork spirit and innovative ideas,” Shaikh Mohammed told the ministers.

He described the government strategy as “a historic work that heralds a new dawn for our people who are aspiring for better living standards, education, healthcare, housing and job opportunities.”

“Each and every one of our fellow citizens, particularly the widows and divorced women, must enjoy easy access to all amenities, including adequate housing,” he added.

Shaikh Mohammed commended the efforts made by Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services.

“At the end of this informal retreat meeting, I want to hear new ideas that will help propel plans to serve citizens in the best possible way. Thanks to Allah the almighty, our country is blessed with rich resources, capable men, education and knowledge,” he added.

Shaikh Mohammed noted that he was proud of the country’s excellent relations with sisterly and friendly countries. Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke on behalf of the ministers. He thanked Shaikh Mohammed and pledged to deliver the expectations of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Shaikh Mohammed.
