Mohammed’s ‘40 Poems from the Desert’ released

DUBAI - His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, signed a new book titled ‘40 Poems from the Desert’, which features a collection of his old and new poems, at a special launch ceremony held at the Ara Gallery in Downtown Dubai on Sunday.

The book, released in 10,000 copies, was prepared by the Government of Dubai Media Office in celebration of the country’s 40th National Day.

Shaikh Mohammed signed the model book in the presence of Minister of Youth, Culture and Community Development Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Director of the Dubai Ruler’s Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh.

Shaikh Mohammed then toured an exclusive art exhibition showcasing the work of the talented Emirati artists whose paintings and illustrations were featured in the new poetry book. He listened to briefings by the artists who drew their inspiration from the poems. Expressing admiration for the unique artistic talents, Shaikh Mohammed applauded the efforts of Emirati artists by saying, “With your enthusiasm and innovation, you stand as an embodiment of the Spirit of the Union. I wish you all the best under the wise UAE leadership.”
