Monitoring of school canteens intensified

Dr. Al Jeeli Qirshi, incharge of school health at the PHC Department, said that the steps taken by the school health section with regards to private school canteens is two pronged, the first is to monitor and control, the second is preventive in nature.

He said the inspection check the licences of canteens, health certificates of staff members, proper food storage, foods items and practice of proper food preparation procedures.
