Murder Miscalculated

THE Israelis have clearly miscalculated and “made a big mistake” in the assassination of senior Hamas commander Mahmoud Al Mabhouh in Dubai, says the Secretary General of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and senior Hamas member, Dr Mahmoud Ramahi, in an exclusive interview with the Khaleej Times.

Ramahi, who spoke to the KT at his office in Ramallah, said, “I don’t think they anticipated that the Dubai police would be so thorough in the investigation,” and that decidedly the “political fallout” of the murder on the international stage (especially from countries whose passports were forged by the hit squad) “has also cost Israel.”

Commenting on some speculative media reports that a Hamas member might have been involved in the murder, Ramahi assured, “if they (Dubai police) give us names of suspects we will arrest them and take the necessary legal action.”

Asked about whether Hamas would now retaliate against Israel, he said, “…we will not do to Israel what it has done to us. We intend to keep the war with the Zionists inside the Palestinian borders.”
