Officials of the Emirates Identity Authority (EIA) are currently briefing senior government officials on key aspects and progress of the identity card programme as well as collection of data for the new Population Register project.
During a meeting on Thursday with Saeed Al Ghandi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), Dr Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director-General of the EIA, emphasised the importance of collecting accurate data for the two projects.
Dr Dhaheri said: "Throughout these meetings we continue to receive enthusiastic interest and expressions of support from our country's leaders. We are pleased to explain how the project will provide substantial benefits to both government programmes and to all residents once the project is implemented."
Nassir Butti Al Shamsi, Manager of the Dubai EIA branch, accompanied Dr Dhaheri at the briefing.
Dr Dhaheri also noted that the EIA is taking steps to ensure that the data collected through the registration process is reliable and accurate in all respects.
