The Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi on Friday implemented changes to the public bus services, which comes as a big relief to the working class in the Capital.
The changes including increasing frequency of services and adding and cancelling routes are all on three digit bus services plying to industrial areas of Mussafah.
The move, with effect from Friday, is with an aim to enhance the public transport network in Abu Dhabi, the department said.
Accordingly, frequency of buses 101 to Dalma Mall and 102 to Mohamed Bin Zayed City has been increased to every 30 minutes. There is another route added with bus number 210 from Dalma Mall covering Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Mazyad Mall, Shahama and Al Rahba Hospital.
Line service numbers 103, 104, 112, 114, 115 and 211 have all been replaced with mini buses.
Line 111 is set to ply on new route between Workers Village and Abu Dhabi Khalifa Street. Line 110 with a frequency of 30 minutes will run between National Petroleum Construction Company, ICAD Residential City, Zayed Sports City and Abu Dhabi Khalifa Street.
Bus number 218 is cancelled and replaced with 216 starting from Federal Courts through Khalifa City, Yas Mall and Shahama to Al Rahba Hospital. Bus number 411 is cancelled and replaced with 410, which will cover Musaffah Port, Mohammed bin Zayed City, Mafraq Hospital, Bani Yas West and Al Wathba Workers City.
All of these routes are covering the length and breadth of suburbs, malls, hospitals and labour accommodations.
