The E311 route, connecting Al Ghusais Station in Dubai with Al Jubail Station in Sharjah, would be served by 10 buses, according to the Chief Executive Officer of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari.

“The 10 buses operating on this route consist of four double-decker buses, four buses with a capacity of 41 passengers each, and two buses with a capacity of 28 passengers each.

“The buses from Al Ghusais Station will go along Beirut Road and enter Sharjah through Al Ta’awun Bridge, and from there to Al Jubail Station. The same route will be used in the trip back to Dubai,” Al Dosari added.

The service from Al Qusais Station would commence at 4pm and conclude at Al Jubail station at 11.30pm, from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays and official holidays, the buses would operate from 7am to 11.30pm at 20-minute intervals.

“This service is being launched in association with Sharjah Transport Agency in order to serve a larger number of commuters between Dubai and Sharjah,” he said.

Al Dosari said the buses are equipped with a range of hi-tech features.

“They are fitted with a statistical system to count the number of commuters and are linked to the RTA Control Center through a GPS system to enhance the efficiency of service on this line. These buses are also fitted with high-definition display monitors fitted both inside and outside.”
