AJMAN — The new Central Fruit and Vegetable Market of Al Humaidiyah in Ajman which was constructed by Ajman Municipality will be opened to the public in less than two months.
Constructed at a total cost of five million dirhams, the project spread on an area of 1,800 square meters will accommodate 44 shops and stalls. The shops and stalls in the old market will soon be notified about the deadline for shifting to the new market. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Ali Al Hamrani, Director General of Ajman Municipality, said that the new market will be all set for its official opening by His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman on the first of February 2005. After the inauguration the municipality will coordinate with Ajman Police for shifting the facilities from the old market to the new one, and this basically includes the shifting of containers, heavy vehicles, cold storages and reefers, among other stuff.
