SHARJAH — The Sharjah Police officially opened its new police station in Sharjah Industrial Area No 4 as part of its expansion to ensure security in the emirate. The police station would cover the 18 industrial areas and provide them with comprehensive security services.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Humaid Al Hadid, Commander-in-chief of the Sharjah Police honoured those who contributed to the construction of the building including the ministry of public works, Sharjah Department of public works and the construction company.
Al Hadid said that the Sharjah Police, as part of a future development plan is opening a number of police stations across the emirate, particularly in the industrial areas and Al Gharb (West).
Most of the crimes are committed in industrial areas and hence the new station is expected to curb such crimes and prevent criminals from attacking neighbouring residential areas,” he said.
The Sajjag Industrial Area which accommodates around 60,000 workers, saw the opening of a police station in 2010. The Sharjah Police, armed with highly qualified and trained cadres, spares no effort in handling crimes, marine cases, traffic accidents and rescue operations, he said.— news@khaleejtimes.com
