The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has opened a public library for customers of Al Wathba Municipal Centre. The library is stocked with over 100 books and educative magazines for customers waiting to get their transactions processed.
"Customers have the option to read useful materials in a quiet ... environment," said the civic body in a Press statement. "The opening of the library relates to the ongoing commitment of creating various helpful services for the community such as recreational facilities."
The municipality aims to open a series of libraries at affiliated centres and has already opened a public library at the Swimming Beach of Abu Dhabi Corniche. This library is the world's second beach library, with the first being in Monaco.
"Motivating the community to read is vital and therefore the municipality launched a number of events to encourage reading and education, such as Reading a Book and Abu Dhabi Reads, to name a few," said the municipality.
