Families and relatives across the globe can be connected using several avenues - the most popular of which is thru Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP applications.
There's one problem though - most of these applications are blocked in the UAE.
VoIP is technically disallowed in the UAE, as the service falls under the classification of prohibited contents as per the UAE's regulatory framework.
But don't fret just yet. There are some applications which expats can safely use in the UAE. These are approved services provided by the UAE's telecommunications providers. Using these apps connects you to your loved ones without the risk of breaking the law.
Both Etisalat and du currently provide two applications called Botim and C'Me. You can use these apps to make unlimited voice and video calls. The only catch is that you have to pay for them.
Both networks offer the same fair prices. For only Dh50 per month, users can make unlimited voice and video calls using their mobile data. If you want to use WiFi so you don't risk running up your phone bills, you can pay Dh100 per month.
