Nursery holds sports day

DUBAI—Young children of Dubai’s Pristine Rainbow Nursery, the first nursery in the UAE allowed to operate from an apartment, held their first annual Sports Day titled The Rainbow Parade this month.

It was inaugurated by Hanan Al Sayegh, Administrator, Child Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and attended by Shamsa Al Marri from the Child Department, and the enthusiastic parents of the children. The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by a three-year old student followed by the UAE national anthem.

The little members of the Marching Band were an instant hit as they came in marching with confidence and ease to great applause by one and all. Later, children aged between two and four years displayed their physical prowess by participating in physical display and games that helped with the development of their flexibility, speed, balance and muscular strength.

“Children love, enjoy and feel happy when playing. It is good that the nursery’s children are active,” Hanan told Khaleej Times.

“Activities like sports day help kids while they are growing up. Although in groups, they don’t look confused; they are taking part with confidence,” Shamsa said.

Every child was a winner and went home with a prize. The supporting parents also had their share of fun and games by participating with their children in Treasure Hunt, Tug of War and Parachute games.
