Oil spill again on Fujairah coast

Hassan Salem Al Yamahi, Director of the Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality, said yesterday that the municipal personnel rushed to the area and cleared it.

Al Yamahi said the three cases of oil spill had prevented people from visiting the beach and affected the hotel industry adversely.

Urging the authorities concerned to take measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents, Al Yamahi accused the ships of polluting the sea by dumping the wastes that threaten the marine environment as well as the fishing and tourism industries.
