Omar Sharif back in Dubai with a bang

Several prominent stage and music artistes, including famous compere, writer, poet, film director, composer, comedian and actor Omar Sharif will make their presence felt on stage. Mr Sharif shot to fame from his well known comedy play Bakra Qistoon Pe.

According to Mr Sharif: "The play was the turning point of my life. It was a smashing success all over the world, wherever Indian and Pakistani communities existed. It was also the first play in the history of Indo-Pak theatre to become a stage series."

Other famous artistes attending the show include famous singers Raheem Shah, Humaira Arshad, Saira Naseem and Saba Kazmi as well as filmstar Deedar who is also known as the dancing queen.

The show in Dubai is being organised by Aks Art Productions while the producers are Arshad Khattak and Ghulam Mustafa. The Programme Manager is Ghous Qadiri who has been in the business for 20 years. Speaking to Khaleej Times yesterday, Shaukat Ali Khan, one of the organisers of the show, said that Aks Art Productions has also been organising shows in Europe.

"In Dubai, we organised Comedy Dangal recently and a record breaking number of 4,000 people attended the show," said Mr Khan. He also said that during the Omar Sharif musical show, it was expected that around 3,000 people would attend. "Nearly 1,800 tickets have already been sold out," said Mr Khan.

The tickets are priced at Dh150, Dh100, Dh75, Dh50 and Dh30.
