DUBAI - A one-of-a-kind event is about to happen in Dubai in September where delegates from 12 countries of different national cultures will converge in a celebration of Global Onam Friendship 2005 - the festival that has no cultural, racial, religious or national barriers.
Global Onam Friendship 2005, presented by International Marketing Services (IMS) in association with Lulu (EMKE Group), will mark the 10th Onam celebrations by the Keralite college alumni body (AKCAF) in Dubai.
The event, spread over two days, will bring together people from around the world to Dubai in a show of global amity full of festivity, pageantry and bonhomie. Superstars and directors from Malayalam film industry like famed actress Kavya Madhavan and celebrated director Renjith are among the eminent personalities that will participate in the event.

Around 5,000 families will unite in celebrating Global Onam Friendship 2005, organised by AKCAF member S.N. College Alumni Association, Nattika.
According to T.R. Satheesh Kumar of the Association, "Global Onam Friendship 2005 carries the message of global amity and tolerance. This never-before event is poised to take off in splendorous style."
On September 22, the eve of Global Onam Friendship 2005, a traditional floral decoration display competition will be held at Millennium School Auditorium, Al Nahda, Dubai. It will be on from 3pm to 9pm. AKCAF members will participate in this colourful contest and 3 winners will receive grand prizes and felicitations at the Global Onam Friendship 2005 event.
On September 23, Global Onam Friendship 2005 main event will be held at Al Nasr Leisureland Ice Rink, Dubai. Famed Malayalam film actress Kavya Madhavan will inaugurate the event. Prior to the inauguration, from 11am to 2pm, the traditional Onam feast will be served at the same venue.` The grand traditional cuisine is so meticulously and elaborately prepared as to evoke the grandeur of royal feasts in the glorious past.
The event's inauguration will be followed by a general meeting, Jayaraj Warrier's caricature show, a cultural show by global delegates and a musical show led by celebrated young singer Gayatri, and Nikhil.
