One killed, two hurt in accidents

An unidentified pedestrian was hit by a speeding car when he was crossing the road in Al Mazhar area on Thursday. Police said the Operations Room received a call about the accident, but the man had succumbed to injuries before help reached him.

In a similar accident, a man crossing the road after Al Garhoud tunnel in the direction of Sharjah, was injured when he was hit by a car. A police car and ambulance were sent to the site and investigations revealed that the accident was caused by speeding and negligence on the part of the driver. The victim sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit of a local hospital.

A minor girl in Jebel Ali also sustained multiple injuries when she was hit by a speeding car on Wednesday. She was taken to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
