Orphans visit Hili Fun City

AL AIN — The Department of Orphans at Al Ain Red Crescent Society (AARCS) in collaboration with the Local Aids Department has organised an entertainment day in Hili Fun City and Hili Archaeological City for 70 orphans and 30 mothers.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Fatima Fathy, the Social Expert at the AARCS, said that the trip was part of the society's projects to look after orphans and create a healthy environment for their growth.

The trip included competitions and cultural and educational programmes. The orphans enjoyed children's hockey at the ice rink in Hili Fun City, she added.

Hili Fun City is the biggest theme park in the Gulf region with over 40 rides in the open countryside gardens, excursion programmes and food outlets. Hili Fun City is spread over 85 hectares of land. It is eight kilometres away from Al Ain downtown, and includes 100 games divided according to age and activities, in addition to 10,000sqm lakes to practice rowing, along with a train station and a boat jetty.

Orphans also visited Hili Archaeological Park which houses the largest Bronze Age complex in the UAE.

Fatima said that the trip was aimed at helping the children appreciate the glorious past of the UAE. It is worth mentioning that charity programmes of the AARCS have gone a long way in sponsoring and nurturing orphans and their families in around Al Ain.
