Over 1,000 RAK homes linked to police's fire alarm system

Ras Al Khaimah - Currently, some 1,365 residential and commercial buildings are covered by Hassantuk.

More than a thousand homes and establishments in Ras Al Khaimah are now directly connected to the smart fire alarm system of the Ras Al Khaimah Police. 
Called 'Hassantuk', the fully automated system is equipped with sensors and smart technologies that can detect fire and promptly send alerts straight to the police's central operations room.
Currently, some 1,365 residential and commercial buildings are covered by Hassantuk. But soon enough, every building in emirate will be connected to the system, said Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, director of the Ras Al Khaimah civil defence department.
"Boosting public safety, the 'Hassantuk' system cuts the response time needed for fire emergencies," he said. "It is an integrated early intervention safety system. The Hassantuk system applies a number of the latest technologies for 24/7 surveillance to alert people in case of fire and other emergency situations."
Brig Al Zaabi said a team is set to run several workshops to develop awareness about the importance of the smart alarm system.
'Hassantuk for Villas' was launched by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in October 2018, targetting to cover 400,000 homes across the country in six years.
Telecommunications firm Etisalat is the MoI's official partner for the supply, installation and maintenance of the smart fire alarm systems. Captain Humaid Abdullah Al Ali, head of advisory experts office and project manager of Hassantuk for Villas, told Khaleej Times: "We believe we will achieve an incredible result. We have a road map to continue to develop and advance the project."
