Public parking fees in Abu Dhabi will resume from Wednesday, July 1, from 8am.
Paid parking in the emirate resumes after a three-month suspension period to help members of the community during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport Abu Dhabi offers m-Mawaqif service that allows users to pay for parking fees using their mobile phones.

The public is urged to use electronic payment methods, such as through the Darb application or by sending an SMS to 3009 from Etisalat or DU phone numbers using the following format: (city code and plate category) space (plate number) space (standard or premium parking) space (duration in hours). The SMS is charged according to the tariff of the service providers.
Mawaqif fees can also be paid with cash or rechargeable cards. ITC noted that all payment machines are safe to use as they are sterilised on a daily basis to ensure the safety of the public. This has been done in part of the national sterilisation programme that included the sterilising of all public means of transport and related facilities.
Mawaqif timings are from 8am to 12am from Saturday to Thursday. The parking areas are categorised as premium parking (blue and white colours) at a rate of Dh3 per hour with a maximum stay of four hours and standard parking (blue and black colours) at Dh2 per hour or Dh15 per day.
No parking fees are applied on Fridays, official holidays and for people of determination. Parking spaces near mosques are exempted from parking fees for 45 minutes from the call to prayer.
